In autumn 2022, I opened my “Oomiya Base Guesthouse” where many people have been staying at since its opening 2 years ago. Now, I have built a New House just next door!
It is a daunting task, but I am excited.
What kind of lodging is it? I explain it through many articles or Instagram posts, but it will be faster to see it here. In the end, you have to stay there to truly know. After all, you may not know how good it is until you stay there many times or for a long time. Can you wait until you get there? Can you enjoy it? Can you feel comfortable or calm down?
The old guesthouse is proud of its vintage style, large area with a beautiful scenery, and environment. This time, I’m aiming for a “New, Pleasant, and Relaxing” type of lodging. How about lately? Because of the many foreigner guests, it is a period where English is of paramount importance. Until now, it has been named “Guest House Oomiya Base” and I thought of just adding “New” to the new lodging, but because I don’t know if I would hold onto this term, I will just add the year of opening ’25, as “Guest House Oomiya Base ’25”.
I never used to call the “Guest House Oomiya Base” the “Old House”, but now there is a new one, it makes it easier to call it that. Well, for me it is an unexpected base following the solar panel business, and I would like to keep it as such. The house was built 50 years ago by a certain wealthy man, so it is well built and I’m proud of its environment: the Japanese garden, the backyard (bamboo grove), the surrounding forest, the quietness, the sounds and footsteps of animals.
「別荘新館」という事は、別荘の旧館というのがあります。2年前の2022年秋からゲストハウス「大宮基地 別荘」としてオープン、「それなりに」多くの方のご利用をいただいてます。ありがとうございます。
そしてナニヤカンヤで新館を建てる事になり、更に多くのゲスト（お客さん）を迎える事ができます。一人でやっていけるかな（怖っ！）？
どんな宿か？一応色々な記事で、またインスタ等を通じ言葉や写真等で説明しますが、結局見るのが早い。結局泊まらんと判らん。結局何度も、長く滞在せんとその良さ（悪さ）は判らんのかもしれません。そこに行きつくまで耐えられるか？楽しめるか？気持ちよくというか落ち着けるか？
旧館というか、今までのゲストハウスも古くて、大きくて、景色や環境も良くてそれなりに自慢でした。そして今回は「新しくて、面白くて、寛げる」そんな宿を目指します。
そして最近は？外人さんも多いから英語表記も必要な時代。従来のはいつからか
「Guest house Oomiya base」としてたから今回の新館「new」を入れようかと思ったけど、新しいと言えるのはいつまでかも判らんので、オープンの西暦年、’25を入れて「Guest house Oomiya Base’25」としました。
大宮基地 別荘「旧館」だなんて呼び方はしてなかったけど、今回新館を作る事になったんで、判りやすくする為にそう呼んでます。まぁ僕にとってはソーラー事業に次ぐ思いがけず面白い事になった拠点なんで、今後も大切にしていきたい。昔の造り（約50年前建築）、そしてお金持ちさんの家だったんで、造りがしっかりしてるし、また自慢はその環境。日本庭園も裏庭（竹林）も、廻りの森も含め静けさと色んな動物の声や足音。
The new house isn’t right up against the forest like the old house, so the sounds of the forest are a bit further away. However, it is still just as quiet. And of course, as it is a modern construction, it is comfortable overall. I am proud of this house, which was built with a local constructor with whom I know well, feeling like I jumped off the stage at Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto.
To put it simply, the difference is that it’s a warm house in the winter, fresh in the summer, and a house where you can have fun. However, I would like to emphasize on the condition that it’s “2 nights or more”. Check this page for more information.
The old building can accommodate more people (max. 18 people).
今回の新館は森に接していないからそんな声や音は少し遠くなるけど、静けさは変わらない筈。そして当然に今の造りなんで総合的に快適な筈。結構しっかり清水の舞台から飛び降りた気分で地元の工務店さんと一緒にケンケン諤々、楽しく建ててもらった自慢の家です。
違い、簡単に言うと「冬に寒くない」「夏でも湿気が籠らない」「遊び心のある」のが新館です。
ただここで強調しておきたい、おかないといけないのは「2泊以上」というのが条件です。
